Berlin-based Purple caught the ears of fans and critics some years ago when he was part of the shadowy WeDidIt collective headed up by master-of-disguises Sholohmo. Now Luis Dourado is now tiptoeing out of the wings for a full-length on the imprint following 2013’s Salvation EP. The LP is born out of introspection and isolation, Dourado’s vocals are uncloaked and at the forefront of the mix. His employment of dimly lit synths and minimal vocal modification creates a kind of digital balladry- like Evian Christ producing for Leonard Cohen; lovesick songwriting against a backdrop of jet-black production.
