"'Coron Data' (released on Andrea Parker's superlative Touchin' Bass) is the kind of intuitive electro that comes from a relationship stretching back fifteen years. Pockmarked in rutting rhythms, skittering breaks and cinematic flourishes, the Scarletron sound is utterly distinctive from the off - and despite its digital origins, displays a sound that is almost organic in its evolution. Rough without becoming abrasive, 'Coron Data' kicks off with the jacking distortion of 'Allegorical' - wherein Scarletron offset the razor-edged foreground with a creamy atmosphere that is border-line hypnotic. Having also released music under the Ilektro moniker, Finlow and Quayle have plenty of heritage to draw upon as a duo - a fact that is blatantly clear on the stunning 'Crash Mat' and 'Coron Data Memory'; both of which fuse a genuine eye for detail with a spontaneous air that is impossible to fake.
