Scotty Coats and Wes (the Mes) hail from the sunny shores of Long Beach, California. The two met, as so many musical partners have, while loitering / browsing at the local record shops. After becoming fast friends and production partners only a brief fifteen years later, the duo finally got around to releasing their sun-baked dance music to the public.
First up is the nail-biting punk disco offering, "Double Fisted." The song's speaker-shredding synth line and drunken, chanted chorus is a valiant first stab at the disco dance charts. A year ago, Rong released an extremely limited single-sided pressing of "Double Fisted" exclusively for their favorite record shops. After receiving many disgruntled emails about not being able to find this single after the first week, the label finally made decision to give it a full release along with two equally mental Prins Thomas remixes. The Nordic demigod brings the funky disco beat with his first interpretation of "Double Fisted," while on the flip-side he creates a head-nodding Balearic version that makes one feel a bit like they should be lying in the tall, tall grass watching a liquid gel light show in outer space.
Scotty and Wes have been DJing steadily all over Southern California for the last decade and will soon bring their West Coast good vibes and disco schizophrenia wherever and everywhere else.
