The first of a series of super on-it remixes of tracks from Scuba's 'A mutual antipathy' album with techno legends Surgeon and Substance receiving their call to the front line of the technoXdubstep hybrid thing with two utterly devastating versions. Surgeon lays into 'Ruptured' with an unbridled fervour, picking out the technofied elements of the original and rearranging them into one of his most forward thinking remixes to date by truly grasping the swung functions of dubstep and scientifically splicing them with his innate techno knowledge for something off the scale. Chain Reaction's legendary Substance flips the script on the other side with an almost overwhelmingly deep dub version of 'Poppies', similar in scope to his well hung halfstep remix of Monolake's 'Alaska' but keener on the dub variations with gleaming metallic reverbs and a heaving dub tech bassline gagging to be pushed into any number of mixed possibilities. We absolutely love this 12" and you should too. KILLER!!!
