The third drop from Mark Fell's fledgling Sensate Focus imprint/project continues the blistering form established by '5' and '10' with another slice of futuristic, skewed house. Fell's penchant for high frequency digital rhythms and glassy synths is again punctuated with subtle vocal chops and the sort of rolling groove you'd more readily find on a Masters at Work compilation. Of course any pandering to the house template is offset by the sort of production weirdness we got accustomed to over SND's enviable catalogue; opener 'X' is and uptempo, stuttering almost 2-step number, diseased by spine tingling chattering hi hats and rolling FM clicks. Every time you get the feeling that you could actually dance to these tunes, Fell throws a spanner in the works, and that's exactly what has made the Sensate Focus label so damned essential a mere three releases into its canon.
