Utterly classic twelve! Long before disco-edits became de rigueur for all those haircuts who used to treasure Electroclash, Berlin's Frank Timm was making the kind of tightly spliced works of wonder that would immediately gain the attention of everone from Carl Craig through to Herbert, Basic Channel through to Francois K and a whole host of smartarse DJ's who would take great comfort in knowing that it would be a good few years before average Joe Punter aquired the necessaries to seek this material out for themselves. With a work-rate that has seen a grand total of six 12"s released in the last 10 years under the Soundhack and Soundstream Monilkers, you get some idea of the kind of precision work undertaken by this master-producer, and this new 2-tracker is quite possibly his most developed mashup to date. It's disco, yes, but it's also fabulously deep and just about the funkiest thing you'll hear this year.
