We all love a bit of Static don't we? Hanno Leichtmann has now released three startling albums for the hugely respected City Centre Offices label, each garnering more praise than the last. With a track recently used by Coca Cola in the USA it seems he is destined for a bright future. This 7" for the highly collectible Earsugar imprint is his latest offering, two exclusive tracks never before heard on his albums. He was apparently influenced by a broken Billie Holiday CD which one day started to skip, creating a looping piano melody which Leichtmann found utterly beguiling. This formed the basis of the A-side 'This Morning Without Waking,' over which he layered his trademark detuned analogue synthesizers and driving electronic beats. The flipside donates yet another of Leichtmann's electrical lullabies, with a gorgeous pulsating beat of a track that has enough childlike innocence to melt the coldest of hearts. Reminsicent of the classic early days of Morr music, 'This Morning Without Waking' is a 7" we can all lie back with and dream of summer.
