Shed's awesome Subsolo imprint returns to it's first release 'The Fall' produced by Shed himself in his STP alias with updates from two of our favourite producers, Bristol's Peverelist, and Berlin stalwart T++, laying two contrasting blueprints for all technoXdubsteppers functions in 2009. The Subsolo label has consistently wrecked our heads with a sparse but fully realised series of 12"s from Dave Huismans in his A Made Up Sound guise, joining the dots between the spirit of Detroit's rhythmic futurism, the wriggling shift of UK Garage and the precise nature of Berlin techno, all elements which get further explored by these well picked remixers. Torsten Profrock's remix once again manages to completely astound us, taking the best elements of his revitalised string of singles between 2006 and today, and sculpting them into a determined flex of toned and sinuous rhythmic muscularity, always heading forward and refusing to look back. T++'s side perfectly epitomises the slight stylistic gap between the Berlin and Bristol styles, bringing a more heads down and constantly linear vibe, as opposed to Peverelist's sensually swinging and melodically colourful effort on the flip. Pev's remix actually stays closer to the original track, reconfiguring the pattern for a dubstep tempo and flex, but adhering to STP's intended Detroit shaking rhythms and soaring melodic constructions with a faithful respect that makes his cut extremely compatible with the A Made Up Sound tracks. This is likely to be one of the defining 12"s of this year for all low-end heads and we urge you to pick one up just so you can hear it played at the right volume. KILLER!!!!!!
