One of the chief exponents of the Detroit "beatdown" sound, Theo will be remembered as a genius in years to come. Juan Atkins may be the Godfather of techno but Theo Parrish is the John Coltrane. Although his tracks are often lengthy, he is the most accessible of the beatdown producers in my book, eschewing the murky/jazzy and, frankly, plodding production technique of his contemporaries in favour of a cleaner, more conventional, techno-house style. There is NOTHING conventional about his music though, in fact, it is consistently jaw-dropping.
There must be a secret in the production process and the mastering in Detroit.
