A dream meeting of legendary Lagosian drummer Tony Allen and Detroit/Chicago maverick, Theo Parrish for Theo's own new imprint - Wildheart Recordings. After meeting up at RBMA sessions in Toronto and London, and later at the Honest Jon's Chop Up shows, the celebrated artists forged a bond which extended to the studio and resulted in these two soul-nourishing grooves vocalled by Sound Signature celeb Andrew Ashong and Eska Mtungwazi (Matthew Herbert Big Band/New Sector Movements) and anchored by The Invisible's bass player David Okumu. On A-side Theo's soft keys and Eska's expressive coos take back seat to allow Allen's trademark tumbling drums to really command the groove with masterful funk. B-side, everyone syncs in soul harmony; Theo's sweeping synth washes and dual female/male vocals gild a looser flowing rhythm section, building to a beautiful climax of rolling drums and off-kilter chords and resolving with a mouth-watering breakdown.
