Chicago's ghetto veteran Cornelius Ferguson aka Traxman moves closer to the edit with an exceptional 2nd album of Footwork for Planet Mu. 'Da Mind Of Traxman (Vol.2)' is a masterclass in man-machine synergy flipping classic samples with combustible dancefloor science. Steeped in the principles of original hip hop and house - bringing the party in ever fresher, funked up mode - there's 18 eccentric bullets turning chunks of Larry Heard, Kraftwerk, The Eurhythmics (and many more besides) into hyper lean ghetto geometries. If you want highlights, run straight to 'Computer Getto' - his conceptual follow-up to 'Compute Funk' from the 'Bangs & Works Vol.1' compilation - then check the freakish 'Bubbles', the blast beats of his metal x footwork hybrid 'Tha Edge Of Panic', the ultra-minimalist funk of 'Blow Your Whistle (Tha Out Of Here Remixxx)', or the cryptic coding of '15416', and then simply trust your instincts.

Traxman does it again! Dope collection of underground gems! Standout tracks are Timeslip a purely melodic number aimed at starting the trip into the mind of Traxman, Gone and hit that, the ubiquitous ode to everyone's favorite herb, and The edge of panic the craziest mashup of Pantera and Public Enemy imaginable! Highly recommended!
