Description

Grade A, Detroit-styled techno funk retrieved from obscurity by the fine folk at Numbers. We'd actually forgotten all about this one, but it's now flooding back memories of DJ Bone's classic, turn-of-the-century mix CD 'Subject: Detroit Volume 2', a mix we hold dear to our hearts, where the titular original was beautifully sandwiched between Perception's 'Mirage' and The Martian's 'Firekeeper'. Anyway, allow the nostalgia, OK! So it's a bit of belter, this. Imagine Anthony Shakir meets Kraftwerk at Mad Mike's place and you've nearly got the measure of 'Multi Ordinal Tracking Unit' - it's that good. Yet for all its 313-sounding credentials, it was actually crafted in Forest Gate, London, by a coupla cats called CIM and Louis Digital, but that that didn't stop all the Detroit big dogs, from UR to Rob Hood and Bone caning it at the time. For this reissue we're spoilt with a previously unleashed remix by Louis Digital in his City Of Quartz guise, who blends it with Laszlo Kovacs' 'Hostages For The Chase Manhattan' until it sweats pure silicon funk.
