Another surefire winner for the on-form Bathetic label, Zac Nelson's `Sound A Sleep Sound' sort of does exactly what it says on the tin, offering up two sets of delicious, woozy, meditative electronic explorations for, well, sleeping to. In some way we're reminded of electronic music past, but `Sound A Sleep Sound' is far from your kosmiche rehash. Rather is sounds like Nelson has grabbed a stack of Artificial Intelligence-era ambient records and set about making something, well, more current to say the least. This is peaceful, gloriously deep music and ends up sounding something as if Polmo Polpo had collided with Steve Roach and the whole thing was remixed by Black Dice. Or something.
