Description

**Limited edition of 650 hand-numbered copies on 160g splattered vinyl. Includes liner notes by Dave Segal** Seattle's Medical Records reveal the unreleased early electronic output of Gay Cat Park; a pair of Depeche Mode-obsessed Italian teenagers whose only release 'I'm A Vocoder' was reissued by Clone Classic Cuts in 2007. That track is included on 'Synthetic Woman' beside 7 previously unheard and charmingly rudimentary, yet somehow accomplished songs, all produced between 1982-1984 - before they were old enough to even visit a club! The fourteen year old duo were nothing if not ambitious, attempting to emulate their UK synth-pop heroes against the grain of Italy's disco establishment. With homebuilt DIY equipment they crafted a naif, but functional handful of aces, from the faithfully Mode-like mimetics of 'My Love Is Electronic' to the near-symphonic romance of 'A Bunch Of Flowers', via the Robotnick-like sequencer funk of 'Mister Do Re Mi' and eventually the evolved songcraft of 'Bit Of Charm', and the infectiously addictive 'Television' with soprano, Stefania Francia.
