Thank You Arthur" is an amazing reworking of Arthur Russell's classic Dinosaur L track "Go Bang". Prince Language has taken a small guitar-driven chunk of the lesser-known LP version of the NY Loft/Garage and Ron Hardy staple and re-edited it into a dancefloor bomb that's radically different from the original, complete with an insane guitar breakdown. And did you know that there were amazing punky female vocals in "Go Bang"? Once you hear them you'll know why PL decided to call this "Thank You Arthur"! This is a new disco not disco, punk-funk classic. "Lollipop" is an incredible edit from Atlanta house legend Kai Alce, best known for his tracks on Moodymann's Mahogani label and Larry Heard's Trackmode imprint. We don't know who the original artist is (and neither does Kai for that matter). This one is sleazy mid-tempo killer, with moody, floating Rhodes chords, a wicked vocal asking you to "take a look inside your mind", and an insistent 4/4 kickdrum. The edit has a HEAVY, super tracky Theo Parrish and Moodymann vibe, and is a must for fans of the Detroit Sound - this a seriously dusted, scratchy records in the basement affair.
